Due to health and safety regulations we are not permitted to
collect skips if the waste is above the sides of the skip. We
ask all our customers to be realistic about the amount of waste
they need to get rid of; overloaded skips are too heavy for the
vehicles and cannot be safely and legally transported.
Are you using a wheelbarrow?
If so, we recommend that you have a drop door skip. These are available
in both 5 and 8 yard skips, are ideal for easy loading and the
wheelbarrow can be wheeled into the skip. Alternatively, if you
have a lot of soil/bricks/ hardcore, we may recommend a grab wagon
to remove your waste.
Where is the skip going to be placed?
You will need to take the following into account when ordering your
skip:
The width between gateposts, overhead cables manhole covers etc;
Driveways that are block paved or tarmac can present problems when
the skip truck is lifting a full skip. If you're concerned about
possible marking consider placing the skip on the road but bear in
mind you may need a permit. Always check for things such as this
before ordering, our staff and drivers are always on hand to assist
you should you have any questions. It may be as simple as a board
under the skip prior to drop.
Waste that CANNOT be put in the skip
Fridges, freezers, tyres, liquid wastes (paint cans, batteries, gas
bottles, asbestos. A separate disposal of these items can be arranged.
If you do have any questions regarding your waste then please do
not hesitate to contact us.
